"Ski and Sail" Hjørundfjorden
In the winter of 2024, we are arranging Ski and Sail in the magical Hjorundfjord. The trip will start in Aalesund, and we will visit places like Sykkylven, Trandal, Urke and Seabo.
Day 1 Departure day
We meet by the boat with the Brosundet Hotel in Aalesund, some time before 15:00. At 15:00 we will set sail towards the town of Sykkylven, just a few hours of sailing in the fjords. Upon arrival in Sykkylven we will have the evening dinner on board the boat, served by the captain him self. Here you can have a look around the beautiful town and we will also plan the upcoming ski tour.
Day 2 Mount Tungremstind
The day of ski touring will be a high route from the town of Sykkylven, over mount Tungremstind and down to the famous place called Trandal. After an early breakfast on board, the transport will pick you up at the quay side and bring you to where the route starts. The boat will then meet you in Trandal later that day, and we will have dinner and a after ski at the famous pub, Christian Gard.
Day 3 Mount Blåbretind
In the morning of day 3 you will wake up to the beautiful sunrise in Trandal.
As usual we start the day with a good breakfast on board, and pack for lunch. Transport will then be waiting for you at the quay side, to bring us up to wherever the snow is. This day we will try to climb mount Blaabretind. When arriving back at the boat we will depart at once and sail to Urke, where the dinner will be served at an cosy restaurant just at the quay.
Day 4 Mount Slogen
You wake up in the small town of Urke, almost at the end of the Sunnylvsfjorden. A small fjord arm of the Hjorundfjord. This is the day we will try to climb the great mount Slogen. After a long day of skitouring we will depart to Saebo where a warm sauna will be waiting for you. Later in the evening we will finish of the day with a lovely 3 course diner at Sagafjord hotel.
Day 5
We start the day the same way as every day. Breakfast, and planning the day together with the guide. This day we plan for a shorter ski tour, before departure back to Aalesund. We will be back in Aalesund early in the evening.
This program is only a tentative program. We plan the final destinations together, and takes into account the snow conditions, avalanche danger and good advice from local acquaintances.
