Wyvern of Aalesund

Wyvern of Aalesund is a type ketch sailing vessel. The vessel is built after drawings from the original Wyvern, made by Colin Archer in 1897. 

Wyvern of Aalesund was built in 1994 at the Aberking & Rassmussen ship yard in Germany.
The vessel was then a part of the Das Klipperstiftung in Hamburg, and was used for charters and sailing regattas. 

 

In 2008 the ship was broght to Aalesund, and has remained here since.

The "Wyvern" is 24.6m long and 5,4m wide.

The height of the main mast is 26m.

It weighs 59 Tonns.

The vessel can cccomodate up to 12 people, and is still spacious.

The vessel is well equiped with modern navigaional equipment, central heating system and is well insulated for winter operations.
 

There are three double and one triple cabin on board.

Also there are a drying room for clothes, two bathrooms and a shower.
The galley is equipped with all needed to prepare good food, and the mess rooms are spacious enough for all on board.
